Bigger Than Life

Loss and love—faith that built a family.

In the face of sudden loss, faith becomes both anchor and compass. This is a story of adoption, grief, and a hope that refuses to let go.

Bigger Than Life is a quiet, intimate documentary about faith that endures when life falls apart. It tells the story of Sarah, who, in the midst of fostering and preparing to adopt one-year-old Issy, is confronted with unimaginable loss—the sudden death of her husband. What follows is not a story of easy answers, but of steadfast trust in the Lord when the future feels uncertain.

In the shadow of grief, Sarah’s journey becomes one of obedience and hope. Adoption, once marked by joy and anticipation, is now carried forward through sorrow—yet never abandoned. Anchored by her faith, Sarah chooses to continue loving, believing that even in loss, God is still writing a larger story.

Produced for Birchman Baptist Church, the film bears witness to the power of a church family that surrounds, supports, and carries one another through heartbreak. I served as producer, collaborating closely with documentarian Daniel Moon to shape a reverent visual language—one that honors grief honestly while pointing quietly toward hope that is, indeed, bigger than life.
